Expo Hospital 2019: a meeting and networking place for health providers and professionals in Chile and Latin America

The meeting will take place between August 27, 28 and 29 and will be the instance for about 100 national businessmen, entrepreneurs and representatives of the international offer to exhibit their products and news in conferences and workshops, as well as discussing health, technology and innovation. With the aim of collaborating with the modernization of health in Chile through the promotion of innovation and the transfer of knowledge and experiences, the VIII version of Expo Hospital will be held, where the main providers and administrators of health services in the country will meet. This fair, the most important of the sector, is organized by FISA of the GL Events group, will take place on August 27, 28 and 29 at Espacio Riesco and the concurrence of low, moderate and high complexity hospital facilities such as private clinics, ambulatory care centers, clinical laboratories and primary health care centers (PHC) is expected. These entities can have access for three days to an offer “that considers the diversity of equipment, technologies, products, solutions and infrastructure they require”, explains Michele Pefaur, manager of Feria Expo Hospital, who also assures that Expo Hospital 2019 will be an instance for about one hundred national businessmen, entrepreneurs and representatives of the international offer to exhibit their products in conferences and workshops. She emphasizes that “they will also be able to participate in business conferences to generate the contacts and interaction necessary to specify opportunities” and adds that “networking will be strengthened to establish direct communication and immediate feedback of available technologies, products and solutions”. She also recalled that Chile has an investment plan in the sector for more than US$10 billion for the period 2018-2022, which will strengthen hospital infrastructure, equipment and new technologies. In addition, Michele Pefaur states that the activity has maintained its orientation since its first versions, which has stressed that technology is essential to provide new benefits and respond to coverage in extreme areas. “We summoned more than 3,500 people, mainly those who are now making the purchasing decisions of each health center and also clinical professionals and final year students of related careers who are interested in updating their knowledge and taking direct contact with the available innovations.” She said that the innovations to be presented at Expo Hospital will be aligned with the needs of public and private sector, “especially on issues that generate interest, discussion and debate.” For example, pointing to the National Cancer Bill, useful technologies will be considered to increase the coverage of this pathology such as screening, diagnosis and treatment equipment. In turn, for the Digital Hospital, IT solutions will be exhibited as artificial intelligence and machine learning, cybersecurity, blockchain and shared clinical history. Main activities: • More than 100 national and international companies will be at the exhibition. • Opening ceremony where the Minister of Health, Dr. Emilio Santelices, has been invited, together with the main private and public authorities and health management leaders. • 9th International Meeting in Chile (EISACH), with 3 days of analysis and debate focused on public health. • 5th Modern Hospital Congress, with themes related to Health and Technologies for the Elderly, Digital Health change in the care model, Innovations for the Prevention and Early Detection in Cancer, New Technologies in Traumatology and Rehabilitation and Solutions to treat chronic patients. • Technology Workshops: Future Health Trends. • Health Business Roundtable, led by ProChile, which will convene national companies that today offer solutions for the health sector and that can be exported. This business conference will establish contact with more than 10 health institutions from Latin America. • 1st Conference on Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Health – Startups, led by Corfo.
